The “Microsoft Retail Management System – Store Operations” (hereafter referred to as RMS) does not have an inbuilt method for taking out data from the existing database, compacting and reducing the size of the active database whilst keeping an archive of the old data for reporting and audit purposes.  This Retail Realm utility was developed to address this shortcoming.
